Certified California Climate Regulation — SB 253 & SB 261 Compliance Course

Both, end-to-end. SB 253 (the Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act) is covered across the regulatory scope, GHG Protocol Scope 1/2/3 methodology, the Inventory Management Plan, and the data-governance discipline that makes the disclosure assurance-ready. SB 261 (the Climate-Related Financial Risk Act) is covered across the board-ready risk report, physical and transition risk identification, P&L / cash flow / balance sheet linkage, and the mitigation and adaptation action plan.

A dedicated theme also covers the alignment work between SB 253 / SB 261 and IFRS S2, TCFD and CSRD/ESRS.

First Scope 1 & 2 reporting is due 10 November 2026. Scope 3 disclosure phases in after that. The course (and the mentor sequence) is designed so a typical learner moves from a current-state assessment to a publishable inventory management plan well ahead of the deadline.

Theme 05 is dedicated to exactly this. The course walks through where the standards overlap (climate-risk methodology, governance, scenario thinking) and where they meaningfully diverge (Scope 3 expectations, materiality framing, disclosure structure). Outputs are structured so they can be reused across SEC, IFRS S1 / S2 and CSRD/ESRS — no duplicate reporting machine.

Yes. Most issuers preparing under SB 253 are also building SB 261-ready reports because the underlying climate-risk discipline is largely the same — and the alignment work to IFRS S2 / TCFD means you'd be doing it anyway. The course covers SB 261 in its current form and tracks regulatory developments on a rolling basis. If enforcement timelines shift, your mentor will sequence sessions to match where the regime is going.

No. Theme 01 (the regulatory landscape in California) and Theme 02 (SB 253 scope) build the foundation from the ground up. Practitioners with existing ESG-reporting experience — especially under CSRD, IFRS S2 or TCFD — typically move faster through the early themes and spend their mentor time on alignment and applied work.

Different — and complementary. The ESRS course covers the EU regime in depth (14 modules / 290 lessons). The IFRS S1 / S2 course covers the ISSB global baseline (5 modules / 38 lessons). This California course covers SB 253 / SB 261 — the U.S. jurisdiction-specific regime — and explicitly walks through how it aligns with both ESRS and IFRS S2.

• Studio onboarding — the same flow as Guided Flex. Your Learning Profile (role, sector, jurisdiction, reporting context, preferred output language) feeds the AI Tutor.

Standard Studio access is 12 months — usually comfortable, since the materials are concise and applied rather than padded.

Your output language is set in your Learning Profile, so explanations, drafts and feedback come back in your preferred language. Standards quotations and regulatory text are preserved in their official versions; everything else adapts.

Yes — two discounts on the standard course fee:

• Self-funded individuals — if you're paying personally rather than through a company or organisation, you can request a 20% discount. Email lra@reporting.academy before you enrol.
• Groups — when three or more people from the same organisation enrol on the same course, the group qualifies for 20% off, regardless of who settles the invoice.

The two don't stack — the maximum on any enrolment is 20%. Three self-funded colleagues enrolling together get 20%, not 40%.

This is a simple headcount discount on a standard course — not the Corporate Programme. The Corporate Programme is a bespoke engagement: tailored materials, a dedicated trainer and scoped delivery. Yes — and it's interest-free, with no charge for spreading the cost. As a rule of thumb, fees up to £1,000 are split into two payments, and larger fees step up on the same basis — broadly one further instalment for each additional £1,000 or so. We'll confirm the exact split for your course and fee — email lra@reporting.academy and we'll set up your plan.

Your first payment confirms your enrolment and opens your Study Studio access straight away. The remaining payment then follows on a short schedule: the final instalment is due by the start of the third month of your enrolment, and the whole balance is settled within six months.

Instalment plans follow the same cancellation rules, pro-rata to the amount paid — see the refund question below.

14-day cancellation right. If you haven't yet entered the Study Studio, you can cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund (UK consumer statutory right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Email lra@reporting.academy.

Once you enter the Studio, that statutory right ends — at checkout you give explicit consent to immediate digital access. After that, refunds are at LRA's discretion, considered on individual circumstances.

• 1:1 Expert Mentorship — your mentor engagement starts and finishes within 6 months of purchase. If LRA can't assign a senior mentor and schedule your kickoff within roughly four weeks, the mentorship component is pro-rata refunded (Studio access stays for its full 12-month term). Sessions not commenced within the 6-month window lapse; extensions by written agreement only.
• Live Cohort — if a cohort doesn't run, the cohort layer is fully refunded or rolled to the next intake (Autumn / Spring). Studio access stays.
• Instalment plans — same rules, pro-rata to the amount paid.
• Corporate Programme — governed by your enrolment agreement.

Postponements (extending Studio access rather than refunding) can usually be arranged — contact us before opening a refund case.
