Methodology · How we deliver

How LRA delivers its courses.

Every LRA course is built and led by Dr. Ross Kurinko and senior ESG practitioners — delivered live at our Canary Wharf, London office or through a specialist AI Study Studio for ESG disclosure. Expect personalised onboarding, applied disclosure drafts and real mentor support — always human-in-the-loop, with one verifiable certificate at the end of every route.

The frame

Outcome-based, not level-based.

At LRA, we don't divide sustainability reporting into artificial 'basic', 'advanced' or 'professional' tracks. Our courses are designed around one outcome: helping learners develop the capability to prepare, review and defend credible sustainability disclosures in real reporting contexts.

What changes from one route to another is the learning path — the rhythm, the level of guidance, the amount of live interaction and the support model. What does not change is the professional standard we work toward: report-ready capability, adapted to your role, organisation and reporting context.

Step one — every route

Every route starts with onboarding.

Not a basic intake form — a four-tab Learning Profile that the AI Tutor, AI Avatar and Studio environment use to personalise the learner's entire experience.

Before you enter the Studio, we capture your role, sector, jurisdiction, reporting context and current level of experience. From that point on, the AI Tutor, AI Avatar and learning environment adapt to your actual professional context — no FTSE-100 case studies thrown at an NGO analyst, no corporate examples for a graduate researcher.

Tab 01

Language & jurisdiction

Preferred output language, country / locale, and the reporting jurisdiction(s) you're exposed to — EU / UK / US / UAE and beyond.

Tab 02

Professional context

Current industry · target industry · organisation type (Advisory / Consulting / Audit firm / Listed corporate / NGO / Academic / SOE) · organisation size · listing or capital-market status · role and function.

Tab 03

Learning context

Experience and maturity level, learning goals, focus areas, and how much time you have to give the course each week.

Tab 04

AI preferences

Tone, depth, output preferences — so the AI Tutor explains the way you actually want to read.

Why this matters. Every "AI personalised to your role and disclosure context" claim is anchored in this profile. When you ask "explain materiality for our company", the AI knows your org type, sector, listing status and role — and answers in that context.
London Reporting Academy
The platform

Inside the LRA Study Studio — AI-powered, always human-in-the-loop.

A specialist learning environment built for sustainability reporting — not a generic course library. One of the most advanced learning environments for this work.

The Studio is a purpose-built workspace for learning sustainability reporting through standards, real disclosures, applied tasks and expert support. It is the platform every learner uses — across every route — to move from understanding the standards to working with them at practitioner depth.

Not "chatgpt" with an ESG hat on. The AI is a frontier model wired into a proprietary ESG knowledge base — standards plus real disclosures with structural claims and data points — and anchored to your Learning Profile.

In the Studio, the Assistance Desk keeps all AI threads, expert-support messages, mentor notes and escalations in one place. On Guided Flex, this is also where experienced ESG reporting professionals on the LRA support team answer learner questions through the platform.

What the Studio includes
  • AI Tutor on every lesson — explain, simplify, translate and apply concepts to the learner's context.
  • Dr. Kurinko's AI Avatar — voice-led explanations when text is not enough.
  • Proprietary ESG knowledge base — standards, real disclosures, structural claims and data points.
  • Mistake Coach — weak topics become a focused revision plan.
  • Expert support desk — human reporting professionals available through the platform.
  • Read and reason in your language — highlight any sentence in any lesson and the AI Tutor translates it inline into 20+ languages — Arabic, Mandarin, Hindi, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and more.
Human-in-the-loop

AI for speed. Humans for judgment.

Across every route — including Guided Flex — the AI thread can be handed to a real human. The form of contact varies; the human presence is constant.

Guided Flex

Async expert support — through the platform.

Flexible, never unsupported. The LRA support team — experienced ESG reporting professionals — answer your questions through the Assistance Desk typically within one business day.

  • Channel: Assistance Desk inside the Studio
  • Typically within one business day from the LRA support team
  • Scope: questions, clarifications, context guidance
  • Assignments and drafts: AI-checked (not human-reviewed)
Live Cohort

Start in the Studio now. Add the cohort when the intake opens.

You begin the Studio-based course immediately after onboarding. When the next intake opens, you join scheduled live online sessions with senior LRA mentors on top of what you've already learned.

  • Studio access: from day one of enrolment
  • Cohort sessions: twice-weekly live online with senior LRA mentors
  • Mentor-reviewed exercises during the live phase
  • Intakes: Autumn — Mon 5 Oct 2026 · Spring — Mon 1 Mar 2027
1:1 Expert Mentorship

Two onboardings. One mentor. Drafts reviewed line by line.

Mentorship runs on dual onboarding — the Studio onboarding every learner does, plus a separate mentor kickoff session with Dr. Ross Kurinko or your assigned senior LRA mentor, subject to mentor availability. The mentor kickoff is additional to the 24 CPD / 32 academic hours of the core programme and is used to tailor the mentorship route around your reporting context.

  • Two onboardings: Studio + dedicated mentor kickoff
  • Private Zoom sessions with Dr. Ross Kurinko or a senior LRA mentor
  • Line-by-line review of disclosure drafts
  • Personalised guidance anchored to your reporting context
Corporate Programme

Bespoke delivery — designed around your team.

Enquiry-led and scope-aligned. A senior trainer delivers your programme online, on-site, at Canary Wharf, London, or as a hybrid blend — built around your team's reporting context, sector and maturity.

  • Senior trainer delivery, in your context
  • Online · on-site · Canary Wharf, London · or hybrid
  • Bespoke scope — sector, role mix, depth and pace
  • Team certificates with a Corporate programme recognition
Assessment & feedback

Applied drafts, not just multiple-choice quizzes.

Every module ends with a real disclosure task — materiality assessment, evidence chain, draft wording — the way the work appears in actual corporate, NGO, advisory or academic practice.

Applied tasks on real disclosures

You don't just answer A / B / C / D. You draft, structure and defend disclosures the way you'd produce them in a real reporting environment — calibrated to your industry, role and jurisdiction.

Guided Flex — AI-checked feedback

On Guided Flex, assignments are AI-checked: the Studio flags missing data, weak logic and thin evidence. Questions on the lesson or the standard go to the expert support desk via the Assistance Desk.

Live Cohort, Mentorship, Corporate — human review on top

On 1:1 Expert Mentorship, Live Cohort and Corporate routes, a senior LRA mentor, faculty or corporate trainer reviews your drafts line by line — on top of the AI feedback layer.

Mistake Coach closes the gaps

Weak topics auto-surface into a focused revision list — gaps close before they show in your real report. The Mistake Coach groups wrong answers by topic and points you to the exact lesson page where the gap lives.

Certificate

One core certificate. Route recognition lines stack on top.

There is one core certificate for each LRA standard — identical for every route. Route recognition lines are additive entries on the same certificate, not separate tiered certificates. Here a recognition line means a route-completion entry on the certificate, not a grade.

A learner who completes Guided Flex and then joins a Live Cohort ends up with one certificate carrying a Cohort recognition. A learner who takes 1:1 Expert Mentorship on top of that ends up with one certificate carrying both recognition lines. The credential ID stays the same. The verification link shows the core certificate plus any recognition lines.

Route Core certificate Recognition line on the same certificate
Guided Flex Course-specific credential (e.g. ESRS, IFRS S1/S2, EU Taxonomy, GRI, California SB 253/261) — (clean core certificate)
Live Cohort (same) Cohort recognition — Autumn 2026 cohort · live online sessions completed
1:1 Expert Mentorship (same) Mentorship recognition — private sessions with Dr. Ross Kurinko / senior LRA mentor · disclosure drafts reviewed
Corporate Programme (same) Corporate programme recognition — delivered for [Organisation name], where agreed
Mechanics in plain English. One certificate record per learner per course, same credential ID and verify URL. Recognition lines stack additively as each route's layer is completed. The PDF regenerates with the new recognition line; the verification link always reflects the latest state.
Multilingual

Read in your language. Reason in your language.

Course content is in English — but inside a lesson the language barrier disappears. Highlight any sentence and translate it inline into 20+ languages, including Arabic, Mandarin, Hindi, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and more.

The AI Tutor answers your questions in the same language you ask, and Dr. Kurinko's AI Avatar both speaks and listens in your native language — push-to-talk in 20+ languages.

What works in your language

  • Inline lesson translation — highlight any sentence, translate into 20+ languages without leaving the page.
  • AI Tutor in your language — ask in the language you think in, get the answer in the same one — across 20+ languages.
  • AI Avatar speaks and listens — Dr. Kurinko's voice avatar replies in your language and hears your push-to-talk in your native language.
  • Source standards stay official — the official source text of ESRS, IFRS S1/S2, GRI, EU Taxonomy, California SB 253/261, UAE Climate Law and every other standard we teach remains separate and unchanged; only the explanation layer adapts to the learner's language.
The four routes

Side-by-side — same outcome, different cadence.

Same curriculum and the same core certificate on every route. What varies is the human contact, the cadence and what gets added to your certificate at the end. Fees vary by course — see each course page for current pricing.

Frequently asked

Common questions before you enrol.

Prior knowledge, route upgrades, mentor logistics, the 14-day cancellation right and what happens if life intervenes — answered once, in plain English.

Do I need prior ESG knowledge to enrol?

No. Every LRA route starts with the fundamentals and moves into practitioner-depth application — calibrated to the role, sector and reporting context you enter at onboarding. The AI Tutor in the Study Studio adapts its explanations to your level: a graduate analyst and a head of sustainability working through the same course see the same standards but different framing.

If anything is unclear, you reach the Assistance Desk through the platform; on 1:1 Expert Mentorship and Live Cohort routes you can raise it directly with your mentor.

Can I start with Guided Flex and add 1:1 Expert Mentorship later?

Yes. Format upgrades from Guided Flex to 1:1 Expert Mentorship are available on an individual basis — your Studio progress and Learning Profile carry over, so you keep the work you've already done and layer mentor sessions on top.

Email lra@reporting.academy to review options for your enrolment.

Is there a final exam — how is the work assessed?

No academic-style multiple-choice exam. Across every route, assessment is built around applied disclosure work: you draft, structure and defend disclosures the way you'd produce them in a real reporting environment.

  • On Guided Flex, the Studio runs AI-checked feedback on your drafts — flagging missing data, weak logic and thin evidence — and the Mistake Coach groups gaps by topic.
  • On 1:1 Expert Mentorship, Live Cohort and Corporate Programme, a senior LRA mentor, faculty or corporate trainer reviews your drafts line by line on top of the AI feedback layer.

GRI Standards Certified Training follows the GRI partner format — see the GRI course page.

What certificate will I receive?

One core certificate per course, identical across every route — issued by London Reporting Academy and publicly verifiable. Route recognition lines are additive entries on the same certificate, not separate tiered credentials:

  • Guided Flex — clean core certificate.
  • Live Cohort — Cohort recognition line added once live sessions complete.
  • 1:1 Expert Mentorship — Mentorship recognition line added once private sessions complete.
  • Corporate Programme — Corporate recognition line added on programme completion.

Your verification link shows the core certificate plus any recognition lines. See the certificate section above for the full mechanics.

What if I can't finish within 12 months?

Standard Studio access is 12 months — usually comfortable, since the materials are concise and applied rather than padded.

If life intervenes, contact lra@reporting.academy: a further 12-month extension is available for 25% of the original fee.

What do 1:1 Expert Mentorship sessions actually cover?

Private sessions move you from theory to your own reporting context. Depending on your goals and the mentor kickoff (a separate scheduled call before regular sessions begin), they typically include:

  • clarifications on standards, regulations and disclosure requirements
  • line-by-line review of your existing or draft sustainability report
  • discussion of real-life reporting examples and best practice
  • personalised assignments and feedback
  • additional materials, templates and resources
  • support with developing an ESG reporting roadmap
  • advice on data collection, validation and stakeholder communication
  • adaptation of the curriculum to your specific industry, region or learning objectives

Sessions are normally held online so learners across time zones can join. If you're based in London, in-person meetings can be arranged by prior agreement.

I've bought a course on 1:1 Expert Mentorship — what happens next?

You get immediate Studio access plus a dual onboarding sequence:

  • Studio onboarding — the same flow as Guided Flex. Your Learning Profile (role, sector, jurisdiction, reporting context, preferred output language) feeds the AI Tutor.
  • Mentor kickoff — a separate scheduled call with Dr. Ross Kurinko or a senior LRA mentor (subject to mentor availability) before regular sessions begin. The mentor captures your real objectives, current draft work and organisational challenges, and tailors the rest of the route around them.

After kickoff you receive a scheduling link to book sessions at times that work for you. You can begin and complete your mentor engagement within six months of purchase.

Does the Studio work in my language?

Yes. The Study Studio and AI Tutor read and reason in eight languages — Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Spanish.

Your output language is set in your Learning Profile, so explanations, drafts and feedback come back in your preferred language. Standards quotations and regulatory text are preserved in their official versions; everything else adapts. See the multilingual section above for the full picture.

What's your refund / cancellation policy?

14-day cancellation right. If you haven't yet entered the Study Studio, you can cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund (UK consumer statutory right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Email lra@reporting.academy.

Once you enter the Studio, that statutory right ends — at checkout you give explicit consent to immediate digital access. After that, refunds are at LRA's discretion, considered on individual circumstances.

  • 1:1 Expert Mentorship — your mentor engagement starts and finishes within 6 months of purchase. If LRA can't assign a senior mentor and schedule your kickoff within roughly four weeks, the mentorship component is pro-rata refunded (Studio access stays for its full 12-month term). Sessions not commenced within the 6-month window lapse; extensions by written agreement only.
  • Live Cohort — if a cohort doesn't run, the cohort layer is fully refunded or rolled to the next intake (Autumn / Spring). Studio access stays.
  • Instalment plans — same rules, pro-rata to the amount paid.
  • Corporate Programme — governed by your enrolment agreement.

Postponements (extending Studio access rather than refunding) can usually be arranged — contact us before opening a refund case.

Full terms: Terms of Use §8. Governed by the laws of England and Wales.
